PD User at 2008-11-27 10:00:55 : "blame the jews."
there"s some truth in this, in the fact that Steven Spielberg who did one of the most hypocritical things of 2008 by pulling out of the Olympics opening ceremony preparations, supports Israel who commits such grave human rights violations in Palestinian Gaza. How about Bjork? She sings in China and makes an uneducated presentation, but is hush hush when she performs in Israel. The Jews must divert attention away to China for the real hideous cr... I felt sad. Many Chinese, including myself, are sympathetic with the Jewish people since we understand very well what the German Nazists have done to them. To exemplify the sympathy the Chinese had for the Jews persecuted by the German Nazists and Italian Facists around WWII, we can cite what the Chinese ambassador (of the then nationalist Chinese government) in Geneva have done for the Jews. Understanding the plight and sorrow of the European Jews, he approved visas generously for them so that ... (More details.)

Yes, France was one of the Eight Nation Expeditionary Forces which attacked China near the end of the Ching Dynasty (around late 1800"s)under the excuse of suppressing Boxers" Uprising, a militia movement to expel foreign troops in China"s soil. Aftter looting, the French burnt down the Yuan Ming Palace, whose relics are still seens today in Beijing.

France is one of the 2 impudent countries in terms of launching war in history to China without declaration of war at Mawei in Fujian Province China. The other one is Japan who did the same thing to China.

Ask the French about what they did in France"s African colonies and ask them whether they know what human rights are. How bloody their actions were during the colonial period and the time they suppressed the independence movements there.

French arrogance leads Sarko to give lessons about Human Rights when they are not protected in France by the Constitution. See in French http://justeurope.unblog.fr or in English http://christianlesecq.blogspot.com

Protests ? Protests are for faint heated. Protests are patent of Europeans. They grow up with it. Protests = 0. Europeans are only serious when they see you start taking out a BIG baseball bat. To Psychozy (Sarkozy ?) and France, China should slap his face so hard this time that he couldn"t manage to find a way home. Otherwise, there will soon be another Psychozy, and another. Obama is watching, and the world is watching...

The whole world is waiting, with eyes wide open for China"s reaction to the meeting. All China managed to do is to protest to France"s embassador? What a joke! China has been pretesting ( nearly begging Sarkozy not to meet Dalai) ) for several weeks now. Who cares? 2 month later, Sarkozy will again get away with several billion euro worth Chinese contracts money as a reward!

Sarkozy got hurt in G20 for China not supporting his proposals for challenging the financial position of US. So, he took infringement on core interests of China by meetig Dalai.

EU, together with US, UK and the rest of other nations recognizes Tibet as the integral part of China. That being so, as the current president of EU he should stay off from meddling into the interior affairs of another nation which is of no business of his in the first place. Surely the meeting between Sarkozy and the DL is not about religion. It is an open secret that the DL is first, a politician and then a spiritual leader. The spirituality is just a disguise for him to solicitate sympathy for... (More details.)

I can wholly understand China"s annoyance regarding the President of France"s implicit intervention in Chinese affairs.
However, to say [as one of your commenters has] that the DL is a political leader first and a spiritual leader second is an absolute calumny.
Such an obvious warped perspective undermines China"s obvious and correct position.

China should completely ignore this Sarkozy fellow. Let him monkey around the monk. If he likes to be the monk"s pet let him be. China has more urgent matters to attend to at home.

This is a wise and honorable decision. China cannot honorably establish meaningful relationship with any nation that acts to undermine China"s national sovereignty.
China must also break off all talks with representatives of Dalai and declare that he does not represent Tibet in any way.

Respect to the national sovereign is a fundamental principle that must be remarkably attached to the building of a more scientific and humanist world order. The one based on the selfish interest of big groups of power, such as the military-industrial complex, the oil-industry, and the speculative-industry mostly centered in the United States, is obsolete. If China still supports a true (and scientific) Human development, and does it as a newly developed world power, the French interference with ... (More details.)
