| People in the developing countries are less arrogant, and has the sincerity to understand and establish friendship with another developing country like China. The so called advanced countries and many of their people often feel superior and dictate their opinions on the less developed countries though they are wrong most of the time. |

| As a citizen of a proud country, Venezuela, I had had to witness the distorted way in which CNN reports about what happens in Latin America. At the end of the day ALL media is beholden and owes their loyalty to their owners, advertisers and political masters, CNN, Fox, CCTV, MediaCorp, Xinhua, etc... they will decide the amount and kind of coverage and slant to give to each story.
The best we can do is to educate our people to be able to discern. Let us not pretend we do not know this.

| Both "democratic" and "non-democractic" governments send out propaganda. I know the latter did that, but I am very disillusioned when the western media did that too as in the cases about China and about Iraq. In recent years since the reform I think, some Chinese media may still engage in whitewashing, and understating problems in the country, but I am sure that the Chinese media did not engage in slandering of foreign countries and their people. |

| French get insulted many times at the beginning of Iraq war. | It makes me sad that there"s so much outrage over an insult that was really pretty mild. Cafferty didn"t use racist or vulgar language. He didn"t take any sides. Sure, he was rude and thoughtless, but he apologized for it. Why can"t the Chinese people just take the man at his word and let it go? I mean, at this point all the threats and protests are so out of proportion, it"s getting kind of embarrassing. |

PD misquoted in this story. Cafferty said "...the Chinese goverment is basicly the same bunch of..."
And should the PD have to apologize for criticizing the US goverment? If you answer no to that then ask yourself if CNN should apologize again.
I mean when someone is not allowed to voice their opinion it is really a sad world. He said this on a very opinionated segment and obviously this is not CNN"s opinion. |
