| "Control" was a stretched translation. Jackie"s word would be more appropriately translated as "regulate" or "govern". Who on earth other than the financiers of Wall Street and their government accomplices demanded freedom from regulation. And the world is suffering for it. |

Just as long as it doesn;t end of with the cream on the top and the rest get watered down milk.
Basically there are too many people and fewer resources with each year with the way we have organized the world over the centuries.
If we do not collectively join together and correct our polluting poisonous sources of Co2. Then we will all fall down together. Like a nuclear winter, our world can humble our egotisical sense of ourselves in on or two seasons of Global Warming Nightmares. Precarious Bal... (More details.) |

Hey, to those who picked on Jackie Chan"s compassonate concerns; "I agreed with him on that Freedom may not do good when the Country handling 1.3b people with constant provocative, slandering and tampering on China by the West. Limiting freedom may probably be the way to safeguard the Chinese from the bias and twisted western influences.
As on Chinese products, China do need to improve quality and what is wrong with that comment? The country is growing and will advance on step by step. Didn"t al... (More details.) |

Jackie Chan may have a point. Maybe he did not say it well and offended many people. We should take note and agree or disagree with him.
How we react to Jackie Chan due to his statement shows our maturity and tolerance. Definitely to criticise especially pile personal attacks on Jackie Chan is bad taste. The image of the Chinese people is at stake. |

My personal view is that Mr. Chan"s martial arts training has given him a deep, very physical awareness that balance is the key to survival and that he therefore perceives extremes of wealth and poverty as out of balance. Taiwan and Hong Kong are two examples where these extremes are flagrant.

| I support Jackie Chan"s speaking from his heart. China needs some government regulation and control. That is why it has lower crime rates than some other democratic countries. China needs peace and stability to progress. Movie industry needs regulation to stop too many evil and society-damaging movies. Internet needs regulation to stop crimes and virus. Banking needs regulation from another Economic Disaster. Marriage needs regulation from a certificate. In U.S., the capitalism has almos... (More details.) |

I visited China a short while back.Handan,the
small town I stayed in,Was wonderfully clean.The
people treated me like I was royalty. Pubic
transportation was outstanding. My girlfriend lives in Handan, and I have to tell you that we went out many nights there together and sometimes
we ended up going home quite late.We had to go through some of the darkest back alleys to get to her street. At no time did we ever have to fear being assulted or robbed. The people over there just don"t have that evil ... (More details.) |

| Thank You Jackie Chan, for I have been to China and not just to the tourist areas. The Chinese People are very warm and trust worthy. Take a good look in your own yards people. Look at America the Great. See the corruption and crime as it grows out of control. Read the western journalism as they fabricate and twist the truth just to sensationalize the news for nothing more than greed. I was once like you are now until, I went to China. I think Mr. Chan is a one trick pony i.e kung fu and western chinese acting (second rated). Calling all chinese by all sort of names and labeling them with certain bends on generalisation surely lacks thought clarity.
I wish him well but stick to the trick you know bestest. |

We, The People"s Republic of China have our Law and our Virtues. Being a Chinese you should first of all respect the Law of The People"s Republic of China and its Virtues. | Chan said "Chinese need some kind of regulation and control". Such a statement should have been said by his wife in this manner, "Jackie Chan needs some kind of regulation and control". I feel sorry for his wife. She can"t do anything to control this man or she just dares not. My advice to this man is to regulate and control himself first. | This man is trying to curry favors of our leaders in Beijing. Mr.Chan our leaders are not that stupid. By the way I should not call him Mr.Chan as his surname is not Chan. Don"t disgrace the Chan"s clan. Talking about disgrace, in 1999 he made a woman pregnant (by the way he is already married) and came out in public in Hong Kong to say he did something that most men under heaven would do. Heh, come on - I am a man and the only woman that was pregnated by me was my wife. Don"t disgrace all the m... (More details.) |

Is Jackie really just a jester?
The fool is the one who forever fails to question the system forced on him by birth. Jackie Chan has now demonstrated an intellectual agility similar to his physical flexibility. All intelligent people on both sides of the spectrum are, in some degree, in a similar state of confusion about the explosive potentialities locked inside of China.
Such a statement from a man of his background is full of interest, and the small-minded meanness and illogic of his critic... (More details.) |

| Jackie Chan didn"t make a politically-correct statement, but he did make a socially-correct statement. People aren"t pets in a zoo, but they are beasts trying to kill each other, just look at the sectarian strife in the Middle East or the drug wars at the US/Mexican border; these things kill many thousands every year without controls, and hampers economy and development. |

The words from Mr. Su Minsheng, a deputy editor from Taiwan Voice magazine, describe it pretty well what do I feel about Jackie Chan: "He is just an actor rather than a politician. He should be cautious about his comments on politics. I like him, because he is patriotic and he is just so eager to see China growing strong."
Yes, i do like him because he"s PATRIOTIC, caring and benevolent!
