"Those officials said the door for the Dalai Lama to return to the patriotic stance had always been open and would remain open in the future."
Those officials should realize that the Dalai Lama is
first, a Buddhist monk,
second, a human being,
third, a Tibetan,
and forth, if at all, a Chinese national.
These are his priorities and there is no way he is going to turn them upside down!
If China allows him fully to be the first three, he won"t mind to be the fourth as well...
