| Let us rethink most of the news report from CNN, CNBC and etc (you know what I mean). When Chinese done something that impressive, they seem maintain much silence (well, mostly what I know) but when China involved in some controversies, than all the brickbats has begun to throw at China, lots of it. |

| As always the western main stream media have nothing good to report about China. If a mouse is caught that comes from China, the whole gang of them would describe the mouse to be as big as an elephant! For reliable news turn to the internet. |

| Beyond Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong and other glittering cities, what China is in small towns and villages will ultimately determine how China is developing. Compared to India where villages have serious electricity, health care and water supply problems compared to the large towns and cities, what is the scenario in Chinese villages? Of course, our industrial safety record is poor by western standards, but appears definitely better than China"s, with your mind boggling numbers dead in mining an... (More details.) |

| It seems to me that India is envious of China"s rise. In US , blogs or forums that are anti-China are usually written by Indians. this was conveyed to me by the owner of several blog/forum sites. |

What is this "India is friend of China"?
India has a billion people. There are many which are sympathetic to China and at least as many who are not...
I just want to clarify? Are you "China" or do you take yourself to be "China"? Or are you just one of 1.3 billion Chinese who can"t be bothered to hold an own opinion? |

| I dont think western media is scared. I believe they are naive and they get over enthusiastic at anything they consider exotic, so china is exotic. they are also very gullible they trust what is apparent only- face value. they cannot see beyond the facade the chinese put between what is true and what is a superficial show to impress. |

With the Olympics over, I hope the Western sport of bashing China over Tibet might stop.
Growing up with Western media and Hollywood, I am used to our embrace of the Dalai Lama. Being in China, I saw the Chinese point of view.
Seeing both sides suggests the need to abandon simplistic political stances in favor of some self-reflection and historical context.
Although we should criticize China"s censored media, the Tibet riots revealed some troubling blindness among our own media. While the cau... (More details.) |

"The point is that while the Chinese know their media is censored and do not trust it, we believe our news is objective and end up being righteous while misinformed."

Why some Western media scared of reportage on true China
----------------
While it could be that the West feared China"s own set of values, isn"t it as likely that their reportage reflects an even more sinister motivation, which is to prepare the West for future aggression against China? Please think about this possibility. |

| The German media has a long history of selective reporting on affairs in the U.S. It is no surprise that they also carry this to reports from China. German news reporters have trouble getting their stories printed or shown on television unless they fit within the social and political framework of their editors. To be successful, they quickly learn that only stories with an acceptable "point of view" are newsworthy. It is not about "objective facts", but pandering to popular prejudice. |

I suppose *any* reporting is selective...
Germany surely has a very well developed intellectual and political culture with sophisticated independent media. So you will find pro- and con-views on *anything*.
What is true, though, is that reporting is mainly "problem-centered" meaning that it is rather on exposing and exploring open issues the world over.
As China has put itself in the spotlight with the Olympics and as it does have plenty of "open issues", it is not surprising that it received it... (More details.) |

I agree with the comment above.
My experience of German media is that it is objective, fact based, neutral (almost so much that it is boring), which is not my impression from all US American media.
Nevertheless, there is a corn of truth that media from one country is to some extent bias in different ways to it’s owns country’s topics and usually more critical of another country’s topics. That is why I personally like to research different media from across the globe to understand a subjec... (More details.) |

| Yes, I could not agree more with you . The German media is very neutral, but with an artist orientation. So they merge parts of old pictures to form new pictures to tell groundless stories. So they are engaged in arts and stories telling, rather than reporting of facts. We can never blame an artist subjective or biased, and we must value his/her imagination and creativity. Great talents indeed! |

| I lived in Germany for a long time and I cannot agree with you. The German media in fact has and must have a very neutral approach to its news making - unlike those of America. In that regard, both countries stand very far apart on opposite poles. To correct your unfair and untrue statements, you should have admitted this instead: "To be successful, they quickly learn that only stories with an acceptable "OBJECTIVITY" are newsworthy. It is IN FACT about "objective facts", and not about pandering... (More details.) |

We should run Get Together Asia campaign.
Asia should have one currency and one defense to stop exploitation from wicked west.
Do you ever wonder why West, specially French, Scandinavians, British and American Jews try to bash Asian countries?
They are jealous from potential, good morals, social open people and good food that is found in Asia.
Most west is low life masochists, everybody fucking everybody socities. It has resulted in serious mental diseases and sickness. Most of youth is on drug... (More details.) |

| I fully agree with the People Daily"s assessment of the so-called Western media "s bias on the repaots about China. These media reporters went to China with already formed opinions and agendas. Their job was to dig up anything at all that would have any negativity to it in order to cast China in bad light, especially during such big occassions as the Olympic Games. A case in view is the story of Lin MiaoKe"s miming. The media in Australia were so hysterical on the breaking of this story. However... (More details.) |
